Greatwood Adventure believe in the power of the outdoors to enrich the lives of young people - we aim to ‘light the spark’ of the adventurous spirit within. We have a proven track record, providing amazing outdoor experiences that form the fantastic memories every child should have and equip them with the skills to succeed.

 

We work closely with schools to plan bespoke termly programmes based around the National Trusts

‘50 things to do before you’re 11¾’. We can also deliver forest school activities as reqired.

 

Through these new and enriching experiences we seek to build confidence and self-esteem, gradually increasing the level of challenge to suit. Students will start to feel the many cathartic benefits of time spent in the great outdoors – schools and parents will see them too!

 

As relationships strengthen we can look for more adventure at other locations. We have strong links with local organisations and adventurous activity instructors enabling us to further challenge and motivate, encouraging all who work with us to ‘spread their wings’, developing independence and engagement in all areas of life.

 

Our extensive in-school knowledge can lead to close work with schools on specific areas of need. We are comfortable and confident working with schools and families addressing the underlying issues that result in a young person failing to thrive and struggling to cope in the formal education system. We are willing to contribute collaboratively to in-school and central meetings at all levels if requested, focussing on great outcomes and progress for all.

 

Our aim is to be a key part of an enriching, engaging and balanced weekly programme, making a real and measurable difference for students who have not yet had the opportunities to do all the amazing things that all children should do.
