Greatwood Adventure Mentoring and Intervention

Great experiences, Great Relationships, Great Progress

Finding the talent, ability and belief within

We help vulnerable young people of all ages and those at risk of exclusion re-engage positively with education and life through our adventurous outdoor activity based mentoring programmes.

Our part time personal and social development sessions enhance and enrich the student’s week. They also integrate well with a student’s other education commitments as they are designed and delivered by education professionals with sharp insight into the pressures, constraints and opportunities to excel within a school.

Students will be immersed in a wide range of activities including: craft, woodwork and construction skills, outdoor cooking, den/shelter building, fire lighting, survival skills, wild treasure hunts and country hikes, wide games, team forest battles, wildlife experiences, drawing and painting and off site excursions to enriching locations

Bespoke programmes can be arranged depending on needs. Students will do a wide range of adventurous/outdoor activities as part of their plan, coupled with a deep undercurrent of personal and social development. We pick up and drop off students to your school and include all food, students often prepare and cook their own meals!

We recommend a minimum of 2 terms work with individuals and groups as the strongest relationships need time. Vulnerable students have often been let down by adults, it takes time to change their perceptions.

The Greatwood Difference

At Greatwood we like to go above and beyond. We understand that deep routed factors can, if left unresolved, lead to a student losing their way. The earlier these are identified the better. Our bespoke packages work closely with schools on improving attendance, behaviour and engagement in school.
