Individual and small group Mentoring

1:1 and small group tailored mentoring with qualified, experienced and enthusiastic mentor

In depth initial assessment alongside referring body to identify clear outcomes

Engaging and varied daily activities in the great outdoors

Provides a perfect outdoor component of a mixed and balanced weekly programme

Strong student/mentor relationships formed through bespoke outdoor programme and shared experiences

Progress can be measured and linked to in school targets and rewards

Active and informed involvement in school meetings at all levels

Look at ‘wider life’ to nurture talents through large network of connections with local clubs and associations

Work collaboratively with other agencies

Potential for family liaison and support

Students can work towards excursions to other sites for ‘more adventurous’ activities with qualified instructors
Bespoke programmes can be put together and potential activities include

Woodworking and craft skills – building animal homes, rustic garden furniture and pallet wood products

Forestry skills – safe use of knives, saws and axes

Survival skills – Bivouacs, fire building and lighting, outdoor cooking

Pioneering – build towers, rafts, obstacles, camp gadgets, rope bridges, swings, knots and lashings

Camping skills and hikes

Community work and projects
The above can lead to overnight/residential experiences and expeditions
Also, Greatwood staple activities include Wide Games, Multi Sports, Art and Craft, Treasure Hunts and Team Building/Leadership Challenges
